Your Town-Forbes Gallery By Kathleen Giordano







Guests were welcomed at the Forbes Gallery on September 22, 2005 to raise money for the Community Coalition and the Victims of Hurricane Katrina with a lively auction and cocktail party hosted by the late Malcolm Forbes' daughter, Moira Forbes Mumma.CNN?s Crossfire host, Joe Watkins served as auctioneer with help from the elegant Suzanne Young who graciously displayed the auction items to the crowd. Some of the live auction items included a Tiffany Surfer Necklace, a Hermes scarf, a weekend getaway on the Chesapeake, a case of fine wine, an autographed music CD by Sting and many others.Some of the silent auction items included jewelry by Mariam Denker Designs, Crystal Cosmopolitan party glasses, a basketball signed by various NBA Players, and a New Jersey Nets Richard Jefferson jersey to the crowd.The Co-chairs of the event were Chad Burkhardt, Allison Weiss and Christopher London. The event raised $25,000 for the Community Coalition and an anonymous donor gave an additional $10,000 to the victims of Hurricane Katrina
